Comeback Queen Louise Unveils Sizzling “Stretch” Video

Louise Announces 'Heavy Love' LP

The UK pop star introduces her comeback LP with a new single called ‘Stretch.’

The week’s biggest surprise came from Louise. She made 2019’s most unexpected comeback by randomly releasing “Stretch,” her first single in 16 years. The flawless 44-year-old also pulled off something of a minor miracle. Who else returns after close to two decades with the best single of their career? “Boy, this ain’t a hand out, (no) nothing this good should come for free,” the UK pop star coos over rubbery synths. “Blow my mind, you get my body.” Louise drives the point home on the catchy chorus. “I wanna see you stretch, I’m gonna make you work out to work my body.”

Given the explicit lyrics, “Stretch” deserved a sizzling video and, happily, Louise certainly comes through with one. The clip is equal parts fashion shoot and homage to Kylie Minogue’s “Sexercise,” which turns out to be a surprisingly heady combination. “This video is sexy, real and empowering for women my age,” the comeback queen explains in the press release. “People were probably expecting something quite different from me, but I didn’t want to be predictable. I want people to say ‘Oh, it’s not what we expected.’” Mission accomplished!

Louise’s 4th LP, Heavy Love, drops on October 18. Watch the “Stretch” video below.
