Remixed & Re-Released: Lewis Capaldi Revisits “Bruises”

Lewis Capaldi Interview

We speak to the Brit about his debut LP and breakout hit, ‘Someone You Loved.’

Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” continues its seemingly inevitable journey to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. It climbs a spot to number three and should reach the top spot before too long — just like it has everywhere else on planet earth. That raises the question of the Brit’s next single. In the UK, “Hold Me While You Wait” was given the honor, but we might be getting “Bruises” instead. The ballad was originally released way back in 2017, but Lewis just dropped a remix EP. In addition to the original, there are club and orchestral versions.

“‘Bruises’ is where things started for me when I put it up online not knowing how it would do,” the 22-year-old told fans via social media. “The response was absolute madness!” He then hinted at bigger plans for the song. “[A] ‘Bruises EP’ will be released, which includes 3 new versions of the song & is going to be the start of a load of really fucking exciting things I’ve got planned for ‘Bruises’ over the coming weeks!” I’m guessing one one of those “really fucking exciting things” will be a new video. While we wait, listen to the remix EP below.
